There are over 60 species available commercially including both wild-caught and farmed seafood.
With 2,000 fishing vessels, Scotland lands around 540,000 tonnes of fish each year.
King Scallops


With a buttery, delicate and sweet flavour Scallops taste both light and rich at the same time. This succulent shellfish is caught around Scotland’s coast by hand divers

Brown Crab

Traditionally fished by pot and creel around the west coast and the Scottish isles. The flavourful white meat found in the claws is very sweet and rich in Omega 3 and other beneficial vitamins and minerals

Langoustine 

Caught in the North Sea and inshore Scottish waters, Scotland has the highest share of langoustines. It’s meaty and succulent taste makes it a highly versatile product for it's soft prawn-like texture and a very sweet shellfish flavour

Lobster (blue)

Traditionally fished by pot and creel around Scotland’s Coastline. Scottish Lobster are some of the finest in the world with it's strong flavour and meaty texture. Sizes range between 23cm and 38cm, weighing between 0.7kg to 2.2kg

Monkfish 

One of Scotland's premium fish, with a firm meaty textured flesh and sweet shellfish-like flavour. Monkfish is caught on the continental shelf to the North and West of Scotland

Pacific Oyster

Grown in a variety of environments from open sea sites to bays and long see lochs with lower salts levels. The flavour can range from salty on the exposed Atlantic coast to almost sweet where there are high volumes of fresh water run off due to rainfall

Cod

Caught in the North sea, a sweet flavoured fish with large succulent white flakes lending itself to a great variety of filleting options and cooking methods. Certified by MSC

Atlantic Salmon

Raised in sustainable aquaculture products in the cool, clear waters of the Highlands and Islands. Scottish salmon has held the French Government's top quality award, label rouge for 20 years. Available as fresh, frozen and smoked

Whiting

A smaller fish from the cod family, similar to many of the whitefish species, it takes very little cooking time and has a mild sweet taste 

Plaice

A versatile meaty flatfish with a sweet, mild flavour this species is fished from the North sea

Haddock

One of Scotland’s favourite white fish, caught in the North sea and off the West coast of Scotland. A sweet-flavoured fish with medium to large flakes, versatile for many cooking methods

Mackerel

Scotland’s most valuable and abundant species, sustainably fished and high in Omega 3, this is an excellent healthy choice. With a strong earthy flavour, this species continues to grow in popularity around the world
